The Investment Boom in Downstream Assets and Renewable Fuels: Trends, Risks and Prospects

Merrill Kramer, Chadbourne & Parke LLP

8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday, June 12

Merrill Kramer, a partner in the law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, Washington, D.C., represents energy and private equity clients, including public utilities, energy project developers, commodity traders, investment banks, and commercial lenders. His firm has a leading role in the development of renewable fuels projects.

Bulk liquid terminals are in the middle of the rapidly changing petroleum market and the remarkable expansion of the renewable fuels industry. They are a critical component of the distribution chain, and many will serve as site locations for new production plants. In his presentation, titled “The Investment Boom in Downstream Assets and Renewable Fuels: Trends, Risks and Prospects,” Kramer will assess the prospects for the continued flow of fresh capital into the biofuels industry as well as terminals and other downstream assets. He will also take a hard look at the current state of the petroleum industry, including the renewable fuels market. He will also discuss the key market drivers, trends, and likely future developments.
