Introduction to Tanks
This
program covers the basic guidelines for design, construction,
inspection, maintenance and repair of aboveground storage tanks. It
also provides an overview of pertinent tank regulations, tank design,
roof type, seals and appurtenances. Gauging and overfill protection are
also addressed.
Advanced
Tanks: Air Emissions
This course
provides a detailed look into air emissions issues relating to the
design, construction and inspection of aboveground storage tanks. It
addresses regulatory compliance, emissions calculations and
recordkeeping and reporting requirements. This course is structured for
those who have a basic knowledge of air emissions issues and are
interested in more advanced technical information.
Air
Emissions from Loading Operations Training
This
half-day training focuses on air issues pertaining directly to loading
rack operations. This course is intended for terminal managers and
operators who are in the process of modifying loading racks as required
for compliance under EPA’s Gasoline Distribution GACT rule.
Air
Emissions Update
This
three-hour workshop is designed to provide an update for previous
attendees of ILTA’s Advanced Tank-Air Emissions course. Beginning in
2009, this course was incorporated into ILTA’s Annual Operating
Conference & Trade Show program.
Repair,
Alteration & Reconstruction of ASTs to Meet Requirements of API 653
This
workshop is an introductory course on requirements for welded repairs
and alterations to steel aboveground storage tanks used for oil storage
and related service. Topics include design, construction, examination
and testing, welded repairs, alterations/reconstruction,
welding/examination requirements, inspection, documentation and
name-plate requirements.
Safe Tank
Entry Workshop
This
program provides an overview of the procedures necessary to ensure safe
decommissioning, degassing, entry, cleaning and recommissioning of
aboveground storage tanks. Topics cover the basic requirements defined
by the OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space Standard, NFPA 326, and API
Tank Cleaning Standards 2015 and 2016.
Approaches
to Petroleum and Ethanol Fire Response
This
one-day training examines the fire response for hydrocarbon and
polar-solvent fuels. Attendees learn the characteristics of polar
solvents, how they differ from hydrocarbons, and how they interact with
hydrocarbons. Participants also learn how to develop foam use
strategies for controlling and fighting fires associated with
ethanol-blended fuels.

Safety Culture
This
two-day workshop discusses how to adopt an overall safety culture in the
workplace. Attendees learn about the critical relationship between
major accidents, minor incidents, and near misses. Emphasis is placed
on ways employees can work with management to improve an organization’s
safety performance and culture.

This
one-day workshop provides in-depth instruction on current regulations,
security threats, access control and countermeasures relevant to
maritime facilities. This course meets the training requirements
described in 33 CFR 105.
Chemical
Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Workshop
This
workshop provides attendees with an in-depth look at the compliance
obligations under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards for
storage and distribution terminals.

This
one-day course covers a variety of human resource issues: recruiting and
retention; background checks; performance reviews and development;
employee training; due diligence for picking and using search firms; and
the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program’s
impact on Human Resources.

Managing Age Diversity in Today’s Workplace
This half
day session provides analysis on generational expectations about work
within the liquid terminal industry. Solutions for managing different
age groups as well as recruiting and retention strategies for emerging
generations are also discussed.
Crisis
Communication Seminar
This
one-day, highly interactive workshop is designed to help terminal
company personnel develop the skills needed for a successful encounter
with the news media. Topics include:

required before, during and after an interview;

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Training -
Program Template
This is an
adaptable presentation template, available for use by ILTA terminal
members that are required to train their employees according to the
associated TWIC requirements addressed in the Coast Guard’s Navigation
Vessel Information Circular 03-07, Section 3.3 (g).
Ethanol
Emergency Response Training Program
 The
Ethanol Emergency Response Coalition, co-founded in 2006 by ILTA and
several emergency response organizations, developed this program to
address the hazards associated with ethanol and the appropriate
methodology for managing incidents involving common blends of ethanol
fuel. The complete program includes an instructor’s manual, a
participant packet, interactive workshop materials, PowerPoint
presentations, two videos and guidelines for fire departments that have
ethanol production facilities in their communities. This program is
available through
