O’Rourke
Political
Satirist and Best-Selling Author
8:30 a.m.
to 9:45 a.m.
Monday,
June 9
P.J.
O’Rourke, one of the nation’s leading political satirists and a
best-selling author of 12 books, will kick-off the ILTA Conference as
featured speaker on Monday, June 9. Whether dealing with the inner
workings of Washington bureaucracy or the shifting political and economic
sands of the new world order, O’Rourke proves himself to be a savvy guide
to national and world affairs. With America in the midst of an
all-important presidential campaign, O’Rourke will give the political
lay-of-the land as it appears in June. In addition, he will provide
insights into the campaign process, the surviving candidates, and what’s
in store for the country next year, depending on who wins in November.
O’Rourke adds a unique spin that has earned him a reputation as a
modern-day Will Rogers.
Both TIME Magazine and
The Wall Street Journal have labeled O’Rourke as “the funniest writer in
America.” His razor sharp insights never fail to inform and entertain.
O’Rourke’s presentation, “Pirates in Neckties: Government vs. the Free
Market, Which is Worse?,” will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on
Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Hilton Americas-Houston in Houston, TX. |
