On May 23, 1997, Jamie Clarke became the
ninth Canadian to summit Mount Everest. That was just the beginning of
his exploration. In 1999, Clarke completed a 620-mile camel crossing of
Arabia's Empty Quarter, the most desolate and dangerous desert in the
world. Clarke relates the importance of overcoming the fear of rejection
as a major factor in the process of reaching your goals. He suggests that
we must face and conquer the internal battle of self-awareness so that we
may then become a supportive member of any team that faces challenges
together.
