2018 Call for Participation

ILTA is currently soliciting proposals for presentation topics and speakers for its 2018 Conference and Trade Show. Prospective speakers and instructors who are interested in presenting at this event must submit an Abstract Submission Form to ILTA in order for their topic to be considered. All submissions are due on Friday, October 6, 2017, and should be submitted to papers@ilta.org.

Presentation Guidelines

Proposals should address current issues that affect the terminal industry. Selected topics will be grouped into focused tracks based on common themes:

  • Terminal Operations
  • Business Issues
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Equipment & Technologies

Most sessions will be scheduled in 45 and 60 minute intervals, including a minimum of five minutes to allow for audience questions following the end of the prepared remarks. Panel discussions may be allotted additional time, but will be limited to 90 minutes. If you plan to propose a panel discussion, please include a summary of the topic as well as a list of the panelists and their specific topics.

Evaluation Process

Speakers for the 2018 program will be selected based on a review of the submissions by ILTA’s Conference Advisory Committee and Spanish Advisory Group. Abstracts will be evaluated in terms of importance/relevance to terminal companies, knowledge and experience of the speaker/instructor, and originality. Sales/marketing presentations will not be considered. 

Speaker Compensation

All individuals selected to participate as a 2018 speaker and/or training instructor will receive a complimentary full conference registration. No royalties, honoraria, reimbursement of expenses, or other monetary compensation will be provided by ILTA in connection with the program unless an individual is hired under contract to serve as a speaker/instructor for the 2018 event. 

The full conference registration will provide access to all scheduled conference sessions, including the conference luncheon and reception on Monday, as well as the safety awards breakfast and keynote luncheon on Tuesday. It also grants entry to the trade show, a networking reception for event attendees and exhibitors on Tuesday, and the Trade Show Symposium on Wednesday. Speakers will have many opportunities to meet and network with terminal industry colleagues and exhibitors.
