Benefits of Being an ILTA Member

The International Liquid Terminals Association has long been an advocacy force for the bulk liquid storage industry in Washington, DC. The association is the only in Washington specifically representing the interests of the liquid terminal industry in Congress and at regulatory agencies. ILTA seeks to promote policies that will benefit the industry and promote safe and efficient operations.  

ILTA Launches Inaugural January EHS&S Committee Meetings

ILTA hosted its first ever January Environment, Health and Safety, and Security subcommittee meetings last week virtually. The four-day event consisted 1.5- to two-hour covering a wide range of issues, including Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance reporting, US Environmental Protection Agency’s final kb tank rule (issued earlier this week), expected Occupational Health and Safety Administration regulatory changes under the coming Biden administration and more.

Those large, round, white metal tanks, usually found in clusters, are critical to our nation’s economy but few give them more than a passing glance. As we approach the holiday season, it is easy to overlook the role of tank terminals in our family gatherings. Most people if they think about bulk liquid storage tanks at all, think they only house petroleum goods or chemical. But the truth is that a lot of what we eat passes through such facilities as well!  Many liquid agricultural goods, like molasses, dairy products, high fructose corn syrup and more find their way through liquid terminals at some point in their journey to market.
