ILTA Supports Coast Guard Foundation at Annual D.C. Gala

The annual Coast Guard Foundation’s Tribute to the Coast Guard in our Nation’s Capital was held on June 7, 2022 at the historic National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

ILTA sponsored a table and in attendance was ILTA President, Kathryn Clay, Board Member, Vincent DiCosimo and ILTA staff.  For the first time, the Foundation seated a member of Congress at the ILTA table, Rick Larsen (D-WA), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Over 500 supporters joined together to honor the Coast Guard and raise funds for the Foundation.  Attendees and sponsors raised $909,000 to help Coast Guard members and families, to fund education, tragedy assistance, morale and wellness and workforce development programs that aid members and strengthen the Coast Guard community.

The foundation honored Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, for their work in saving lives along the Mid-Atlantic Coast and securing our nation by intercepting airplanes that enter into restricted air space around Washington and high-profile events worldwide.

The new Coast Guard Commandant, Admiral Linda Fagan, provided the keynote address where she outlined her priorities for the Coast Guard for the next four years.

Long-time Coast Guard Foundation director Jim O’Hare received the Guardian Award.  Jim is one of four directors who started the DC dinner 18 years ago and has been a consistent sponsor and fundraiser for many years.  Since inception the dinner has raised more than $14 million for Coast Guard Foundation programs.
