ILTA Hosts Energy Transition Webinar with Dr. Asha-Dee Celestine, DOE

On September 20th, ILTA hosted its second Energy Transition webinar, focused on the work being done at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to foster a hydrogen economy and how liquid terminals fit into their strategy. The webinar kicked off with a detailed presentation by Dr. Asha-Dee Celestine, representative for the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) at DOE, and was followed by a lively conversation between her and Christopher Hessler, Founding Partner at AJW Inc.

ILTA Letter to EPA on NSPS Kc Rule Development Costs to Control Tank Degassing

The International Liquid Terminals Association (“ILTA”) understands that EPA is involved in the development of a new 40 CFR Part 60 regulation for storage tanks to be designated Subpart Kc, and that one item under consideration is a requirement to control emissions during tank degassing events.  ILTA would like to share some of the more significant concerns with this potential requirement, namely cost and availability.

Last week, the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) filed comments with the Environmental Protection Agency on a proposal to regulate PFAS-containing aqueous-film forming foam (AFFF) under the under the nation’s Superfund law (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act of 1980).

Call for Papers for ILTA 2023 TOPS!

The 2023 iteration of ILTA’s Terminal Operating Practices Symposium (TOPS) will be held on December 5 in Houston, Texas at the Marriott Marquis, Houston. ILTA’s room block will open in the near future.

TOPS is an educational series designed to provide terminal operator with a forum to exchange lessons learned from facility incidents and near hits and discuss effective operating practices with their peers. Presentations are provided by terminal operator employees, who will share their experiences in addressing natural disasters, environmental releases, malfunctions, worker injuries and illnesses, near misses/hits and other abnormal operating events at their facilities.

ILTA Planning Energy Transition Industry Call Series

As part of a new monthly series, ILTA will be holding its first industry call on July 19th regarding the transition to low- and no-carbon forms of liquid energy. July’s call will feature a moderated, high-level conversation on market trends and what the future holds for the wider energy transition. Panelists will include ILTA members and clean energy market experts, including ILTA Board member and Buckeye Partners’ Vice President of Sustainability Meridith Wilson.
