Congratulations to all the 2023 ILTA Safety Award Winners!

The Safety Awards presentation was held after lunch on the first day of ILTA 2023. Dr. Kathryn Clay spoke about the importance of safety culture in the liquid terminal industry as well as the updated safety awards program.

For the 2023 Safety Awards program, the ILTA Health and Safety Committee updated the selection process to include a focus on leading safety indicators and to complement a company’s total recordable incident rate (TRIR) for the previous year. To receive the 2023 ILTA Safety Excellence Award, companies were required to score in the top two quartiles for both the leading indicator survey and the lagging indicator survey (OSHA TRIR data). 

Dr. Clay announced the 26 winners of the Safety Excellence Award and the two Platinum Award winners.

The 2023 Small Company Platinum Award winner was Colonial Pipeline Company.  Zach Hauser accepted the award on behalf of Colonial and provided remarks.

The 2023 Large Company Platinum Award winner was Kinder Morgan.  Dean McInnis accepted the award on behalf of Kinder Morgan and provided remarks.
