On July 16, ILTA joined API and AFPM in a key meeting with EPA to push for critical changes to the 2024 Gasoline Distribution and NSPS Subpart Kc final rules. While meaningful progress is underway—including potential relief on VCU/VRU requirements and slotted guidepole concerns—questions remain around timing and the May 2027 compliance deadline. ILTA is actively working to ensure that needed regulatory clarity arrives before members face costly compliance decisions.

Seeking Clarity on PFAS Liability: ILTA Meets with EPA

ILTA met with the EPA’s Office of Site Remediation Enforcement to urge a fair and practical approach to PFAS enforcement under CERCLA. Terminal operators, who used AFFF in compliance with safety regulations, should not be penalized for protecting lives and infrastructure with the tools available at the time.
