Webinar: USDA Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP)
As the energy transition progresses, renewable fuel blending and storage are emerging as key markets of interest for many liquid terminals. Due to their unique properties, renewable fuels, such as biodiesel and ethanol, often require new or upgraded infrastructure and equipment to support blending and storage. To support this development, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) launched the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) to help encourage expansion of renewable fuel blending and share the costs of building renewable fuel infrastructure.
This month’s webinar features Jeff Carpenter, Manager of HBIIP at USDA, who will present to ILTA members an overview of HBIIP, the opportunities of renewable fuel blending, and offer guidance on how members can apply before the program closes later this year. The webinar will be held Thursday, June 20 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET.

Webinar: USCG Issues NPRM for Cybersecurity in the Marine Transportation System
Please join ILTA and Security Subcommittee Chair Jerry Jerdine as we hold a discussion about the US Coast Guard's NPRM for Cybersecurity in the Marine Transportation System.
The Coast Guard proposes to update its maritime security regulations by adding regulations specifically focused on establishing minimum cybersecurity requirements for U.S.- flagged vessels, Outer Continental Shelf facilities, and U.S. facilities subject to the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 regulations. This proposed rule would help to address current and emerging cybersecurity threats in the marine transportation system. USCG is asking for comments on if they should: use and define the term reportable cyber incident to limit cyber incidents that trigger reporting requirements, use alternative methods of reporting such incidents, and amend the definition of hazardous condition. Comments are due April 22, 2024.

Webinar: ILTA Energy Transition Industry Call!
Please join ILTA and our partners AJW Inc. as we hold a fascinating webinar discussion with Mark Peak from Mitsubishi Power Americas!
Safe, reliable hydrogen storage is key to the advancement of the hydrogen economy. Due to its unique low volumetric density, hydrogen requires the development of advanced storage methods. Likewise, there are important considerations regarding hydrogen transportation. This panel will discuss the key considerations and forthcoming commercial projects that will ensure hydrogen is safely stored and transported, including a review of options for blending hydrogen and natural gas and converting hydrogen to ammonia for easier transport in pipelines and by rail or ocean.
This webinar is aimed at helping ILTA members to understand and prepare for their role in the hydrogen economy and to discuss real projects under way, such as those that blend hydrogen and natural gas or require hydrogen storage/distribution (or in some cases, ammonia storage/distribution).
