On October 21, 2026, ILTA joined a coalition of over 130 energy, housing, infrastructure, manufactuing, labor, transportation, and business organizations on a letter to Senate Majority Leader Thune, Senate Minority Leader Schumer, Speaker Johnson, and House Minority Leader Jeffries supporting the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (BAAJA). On October 13, 2026, ILTA submitted comments opposing the Petition for Reconsideration filed by a coalition of states seeking review of Preemption Determination No. PD-42(R). ILTA previously submitted comments supporting Exxon Mobil Corporation's application and continues to support PHMSA's determination that the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act ("HMTA") preempts the state common-law duties at issue. On September 23, ILTA joined a coalition of over 30 energy associations on a letter to President Trump urging him to reject calls to ban or otherwise limit the exports of diesel and other products. Please see the letter below.

On Thursday, September 3, ILTA joined a coalition of more than 70 industry organizations and associations in a letter to Speaker Johnson, Senate Majority Leader Thune, House Minority Leader Jeffries, and Senate Minority Leader Schumer, urging Congress to use its Congressional Review Act authority to disapprove of six California rulemakings. On behalf of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (“AFPM”), American Petroleum Institute (“API”), American Chemistry Council (“ACC”), and International Liquid Terminals Association (“ILTA”), we are pleased to submit these comments on OSHA’s proposal to modify the fall protection requirements in the Walking-Working Surfaces standard that apply to fixed ladders that extend more than 24 feet above a lower level. 91 Fed.
