ILTA Committees Provide Opportunity for Professional, Industry Growth

As we begin a new year, we hope employees of our terminal members take the opportunity for greater professional and personal growth by joining one of ILTA’s committees, subcommittees and working groups that serve as a cornerstone for advances in terminal industry safety, environmental compliance and security.

Moreover, we hope you join us for the inaugural January Environmental Health Safety and Security Committee meetings, which will be held virtually on January 11-14.

ILTA’s committees provide a platform for members to exchange best practices and address industry issues. They enable ILTA to leverage industry expertise to create work products that provide a tremendous benefit to the association membership. They also give members an opportunity to get involved and exchange ideas on key operational and regulatory topics. The individuals who serve on these committees provide critical input on issues of significant importance to terminals.

ILTA committees are a great way to network, learn, seek professional development opportunities and help the industry. Committee work products often drive ILTA regulatory, safety, security and environmental initiatives. So, if you aren’t already a member of a committee or subcommittee, please consider joining and participating in the upcoming committee meetings.

The full EHS&S committee meets on January 11 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET to discuss a new, ILTA board directive for 2021 to support member companies working to develop Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria and reporting. We'll hear from an expert on ESG criteria in the tank and terminal sector and discuss how the association can help committee members achieve their companies' ESG reporting goals.

On January 12 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET, the Environment Subcommittee will continue the ESG discussion and seek your input for a “member toolkit” communication package to help terminal companies educate their community stakeholders.

The Health and Safety Subcommittee meets January 13 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET to hear from Occupational Safety and Health Administration experts on the outlook for new regulations under the coming Biden administration and how ILTA can best engage the numerous agencies our industry engages.

Finally, the Security Subcommittee convenes January 14 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET to learn more about ILTA’s work with the Coast Guard to facilitate the smart implementation of the new TWIC reader biometric rule and hear directly from a key Coast Guard official.

As we begin a new year, take the opportunity for greater professional and personal development by planning to join us for these important meetings!
