EPA announces proposed CERCLA rule for two PFAS

The EPA issued a proposed rule on August 26 that would list two PFAS (PFOA and PFOS) as “hazardous substances” under CERCLA. The proposed ruling would allow the EPA to hold companies financially liable for the cleanup of these PFAS that they released into the environment. MERPAC To Meet September 7-9 In Florida

The National Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee is scheduled to conduct a series of meetings September 7–9 in Dania Beach, Fla., to discuss issues relating to personnel in the U.S. Merchant Marine, including the training, qualifications, certification, documentation and fitness of mariners.  Open to the public, the meetings are set to begin at 9 a.m. EDT on all three days.
