Benefits of Being an ILTA Member
The International Liquid Terminals Association has long been an advocacy force for the bulk liquid storage industry in Washington, DC. The association is the only in Washington specifically representing the interests of the liquid terminal industry in Congress and at regulatory agencies. ILTA seeks to promote policies that will benefit the industry and promote safe and efficient operations.
Beyond its regulatory and legislative efforts, though, both ILTA terminal and supplier members enjoy numerous benefits that make being part of the association extremely beneficial.
One of the biggest offerings is ILTA’s Annual Operating Conference and Trade Show, the terminal industry’s premier event. Held in Houston every year, the hallmark event brings together experts, industry professionals and government representatives share critical insight into the industry at large. The tradeshow component allows companies of all sizes to demonstrate their services to thousands of attendees – including key decision makers and buyers from terminal operators -- from all over the country, paving the way for future business partnerships. In 2021, the conference and trade show is set for October 4-6. We look forward to seeing you all in person again!
ILTA also hosts numerous webinars and educational events throughout the year, offering continuing education opportunities for our membership. Our speakers discuss everything from timely policy debates happening on Capitol Hill and in the federal agencies, operational issues within the industry, and professional development topics.
ILTA administers safety and compensation surveys each year that allow our terminal members to benchmark against their peers. And we have highly sought-after safety awards that recognize the safety commitment of our members.
More importantly, ILTA serves a forum for ideas and improvement, whether through our Terminal Operating Practices Symposium, our committees and training opportunities.
In terms of tangible products, ILTA produces both weekly and monthly newsletters that discuss current events relating to the industry. The newsletters highlight a wide range of happenings, from policy updates at the state and federal levels, industry and member news, federal register notices, and trends within the various industries related to bulk liquid storage and upcoming events. ILTA also offers an annual directory, which includes the contact information members and provides opportunities for advertising. ILTA also will soon launch a robust and easily searchable online directory.
ILTA has worked hard to build a community over the past few years. We believe that our organization does more than represent the bulk liquid terminal industry; it also provides critical connections within the energy sector for cooperation and collaboration. Because ILTA’s membership is comprised of both terminal companies and the supplier organizations that support terminal operations, both parties are bolstered through frequent interaction and communication. If you are not currently a member, we know there is plenty our organization can offer your company.
