PFAS Advocacy Efforts Continue

ILTA Advocacy efforts continued into August to shape PFAS policy. The ILTA team continued outreach to Capitol Hill about the impact of bad PFAS policy on the liquid terminal industry. The ILTA Team specifically focused advocacy efforts on the United States House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on the Environment.  

Safety Awards

In July, ILTA’s Member led Working Group met to reevaluate and revise the ILTA Safety Awards program. The primary concern over the last several years was the level of participation across all ILTA Member facilities. Additionally, concern was expressed about overreliance on certain reported data, which might be discouraging ILTA Members from participating in the process.

Cybersecurity Updates

The National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are continuing to coordinate cross-sector Common Baseline goals and objectives for cybersecurity to protect critical infrastructure.
