ILTA is pleased to share some exceptionally good news related to ILTA’s advocacy efforts on the TWIC reader rule. The Spring Regulatory Agenda was released including a notice that U.S. Coast Guard will be an proposing an additional (at least) 3-year delay in implementation of the TWIC rule.

ILTA participates in the Employers Heat Illness Prevention Coalition, which is overseen by the law firm Conn Maciel. Conn Maciel has prepared the following update on discussions with OSHA pertaining to this rulemaking.

ILTA will be represented on the United States Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Advisory Council addressing small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is re-establishing the sUAS Security Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC) Working Group.

ILTA formed a Member led Working Group to reevaluate and revise the ILTA Safety Awards program. Over the last several years, ILTA Members raised concerns about the quality and quantity of information that is used to determine eligibility for the ILTA safety awards.

On June 15 the EPA announced updated water health advisories for two PFAS (PFOA and PFOS) and created water health advisories for two other PFAS (GenX chemicals and PFBS). While these advisories are not enforceable, many states use these health advisories as the basis for enforceable state-level drinking water standards. All four of these chemicals are currently or have previously been used in AFFF mixtures.
